Feeding Partner Programs

As a Feeding Partner, you have access to a wide range of programs and resources that could be helpful to your agency and community. Whether you are interested in a nutrition program for your community or help with fundraising for your organization, we are here to help you.

SNAP in Oklahoma

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a Federal program that provides extra money for groceries each month for qualified households. With the help of the SNAP Outreach Team, Partner Agencies can distribute SNAP literature, host the SNAP Outreach Team at distributions, and be trained in assisting recipients in applying for SNAP assistance.

For more information on how you can get involved, contact the SNAP Outreach Team.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is an USDA senior feeding program that provides shelf-stable food packages to low-income adults over the age of 60. Each box holds approximately 30 lbs. of shelf-stable grocery items and is accompanied by a 2-lb. block of commodity cheese.

For more information on how to become a CSFP site, please contact the Senior Programs Manager.

If you are an existing CSFP site, please submit your monthly report here:

Cooking Matters

Share our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ is a nutrition-education program that teaches individuals how to prepare healthy, tasty meals on a limited budget.  Professional chefs and nutritionists volunteer their time and expertise to lead hands-on courses that show adults, teens and kids how to buy and prepare nutritious foods in healthful, safe and tasty ways.  This training provides individuals lifelong knowledge, skills and resources for preparing healthy meals. For information on how to host a Cooking Matters course at your program, contact FBEO’s Nutrition Education Coordinator.

Mobile Pantry Program

The Mobile Pantry program creates a farmers market-style of food distribution in rural communities that might not have a full-service
grocery store nearby. For questions about scheduling, programming and reports, please contact FBEO’s Rural Initiatives Manager.

If you are an existing Mobile Pantry site, please submit your monthly report here:

Retail Store Donation Program

The Retail Store Donation Program is a partnership between Feeding America and various retailers. Through this partnership, food and other essentials are donated to the Food Bank and directly to some of its partner agencies. Only Feeding America member Food Banks and their partner agencies may receive donations from these stores.

For more information or to see about store availability in your area, contact:

Willa Steelman at 918-936-4516 or Shelly Durling at 918-936-4565.

Senior Servings

Senior Servings is a part of Feeding America s National Senior Grocery Program. Intended for seniors with the ability to prepare meals at
home, this program offers monthly grocery bags of shelf-stable food items to low-income adults over the age of 60. In addition to the shelf-stable items offered, eligible sites can also receive fresh produce per senior at every food distribution.

Advocacy

It takes more than food to fight hunger. The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is committed to advocating for programs and policies that guarantee adequate nutrition for all eastern Oklahomans. Help us raise awareness about the reality of hunger in Oklahoma and advocate for legislation that addresses the many factors that contribute to food insecurity. Together, we can make a difference.
